%X This paper aims to analyze the morfometric characteristics of São Mateus watershed, located in Espírito Santo state, Brazil, in order to improve the use of the water resources in the area. In this context, determining the watershed area, the hydrographic and the topographic network consist on important steps. In this study, the first analysis was primarily done through the altimetry data acquired from Topodata Project. Through this data the boundary basin was obtained, showing the drainage network according to different areas of contribution. Based on the automated watershed delimitation, morphometric parameters were calculated. As a result, the basin has an area of 1953,9km2 and a perimeter of 354,8km. Furthermore, the boundary basin created was compared with the ANA watershed level 5, available on < http://www.ana.gov.br/bibliotecavirtual/solicitacaoBaseDados.asp > in the same region, showing the similarities/differences between both basin areas. In addition, according to the altimetry extent of the basin, 5 altimetry ranges were created, ranging from 1m to 112m related to the sea level. Also, slope ranges were obtained, following the slope classification from Embrapas website. The result shows that mostly, the basin is plain to low undulated implying high susceptibility to flooding. The watershed delimitation was accomplished using the software TerraView 4.2.2/TerraHidro 0.4.2 while the hypsometric and the slope maps were created through the Qgis 2.14.7 Essen software.
